Are you a Guilford County high school senior seeking a rewarding senior project volunteer opportunity? Consider the many opportunities for senior projects at A Simple Gesture – Greensboro.

A Simple Gesture – Greensboro is a non-profit organization that helps alleviate hunger right here in Guilford County.  We have achieved amazing things since beginning in 2015.  In a little over a year, A Simple Gesture – Greensboro has collected over 111,000 pounds of food!  But there is still much to do and you can help!

No matter what your skill set or schedule, chances are you can find a volunteer opportunity that works for you!  We are in need of volunteers to distribute bags to donors, help spread the word about A Simple Gesture – Greensboro and also drivers to pick up donations.  Once every other month, we need volunteers to unload bags of food and sort them so they can be quickly delivered to those in our community who are hungry.

Teen Volunteers, Guilford County Senior ProjectAccording to Clare B., one of our amazing teen volunteers, A Simple Gesture – Greensboro helped match her with the perfect volunteer opportunity.  Clare has been volunteering in the office and ranks working with Leslie, A Simple Gesture’s executive director, as one of her favorite parts.  Clare also makes calls to local churches to ask them to support A Simple Gesture – Greensboro.  Clare says, “Before volunteering, I really didn’t like talking to people on the phone. Calling the churches definitely got me out of my comfort zone and now I feel very comfortable doing it.”

So if you are a Guilford County high school student who is required to complete volunteer hours for senior project or just a teen looking to make a difference, consider volunteering at A Simple Gesture – Greensboro. If you are an introvert or an extrovert, need to keep moving or prefer to stay put, give us a call at 336-547-7000 or send us a message and we’ll find a spot for you.  You may even find that the senior project you were dreading as a necessary evil you had to complete before graduation can be a rewarding endeavor.
